Plastic Storage Containers Are a Staple In Society Today

We are a society of plastic users. We used to use cardboard boxes for storage. Now we use large plastic storage containers to replace cardboard storage bins that were so prevalent in the days of yesteryear. We have stopped using wood pulp products and conventional wood and traded it in for our other seemingly best alternative, namely plastic.
Truly not sure which is better for our disposable society environment, we seem to have both wood products and plastic recycling at our disposal sites, and plastic food storage containers are a definite step up from brown paper lunch sacks we used to have to go to school carrying when I was young.
Metal lunch pails have also given way to the plastic food storage container, which neatly houses our meals in storage cubes that keep things separated, and when you have the chance to sit down to eat, the food tastes and smells have no chance to mingle so your sandwich doesn’t taste like celery. We have more diversity in our food containers than any other separate plastic storage containers with lids known to man.
One thing is pretty much assured though, if you house orange colored products, like carrot juice or spaghetti with meat sauce, be prepared to have leftover color in the clear plastic storage containers for a while. For some unknown reason, the color orange is attracted to clear plastic containers. Ever wonder why that is?
My son came home from the store with a neat canvas covered thermo plastic food container complete with ice packets that go into the freezer. They keep the food cold longer because of some space age material in the packets that melt slower than normal water. He uses this lunch bag on the job site because there are no refrigerators to keep things cold. His lunch has to stay out in the hot car for quite a while before being consumed. He really likes the way it keeps his food cold.
Sterilite is a company that produces large plastic storage bins and can be found in most discount department stores and has been around since 1939. The company was started by two brothers and another famous name, Earl Tupper, making heels of shoes but the partnership was not to be, and the parties went their separate ways. The two brothers company really started growing during World War II, supplying plastic combs and tooth brush holders to our military men overseas. Now they provide an extremely diverse set of storage containers along with a full range and assortment of other plastic products.
Till next time -
