We have a Rubbermaid plastic storage cabinet we bought for the pool area to house the pool supplies like the plastic flex hose three foot sections, the side wall scrubbers, skimmers, vacuum attachment and chemicals. I was extremely happy with the construction and the durability of the plastic full height storage cabinet, being thicker and rigid so you could put some weight against it and it would stay the way it was and not bend or crack.
It is made almost like those child tyke type of playing and climbing stations with that type of plastic composition. I have seen park benches and most recently I saw a car made with this type of plastic, but this outdoor plastic storage cabinet is hollow and not solid like the park benches or that car I saw, what a sight. I think it ran on a lawn mower engine or had some hybrid battery and engine combination.
Anyway, the stamping they do to get these pieces probably takes up quite a bit of room to create. You can tell they make the sides and doors with one stamp, not two sides screwed together to be held in place by the way the mold lines go along the edge of the parts. It is really difficult to make a piece the size of a full height door and not have any residual marks or what they call parting lines.
The button press-in areas are created for strength and where they come together, the opposite side pieces become one, so you have plenty of strength that is patterned throughout the design of the doors and siding parts, and makes them very durable indeed. These units come in half height or around thirty inches high stackable plastic storage containers as well.
I am not sure how much weight you would be able to put into the stacked top one, but I am sure they would be able to hold up nicely for garden supplies, hoses, fertilizer, garden soil and everyday usage items for the back yard. They make keeping things organized in the backyard a breeze.
Sometimes your needs are much larger and if that is the case, perhaps a plastic storage shed would be the candidate to fulfill your backyard needs. These models can get you three hundred twenty five extra feet of storage space. Enough space for the lawnmower and probably all the other power equipment you need for your home.
If you have been holding off on getting some plastic storage drawer cabinet or outdoor plastic storage cabinets because you thought they were too cheap or flimsy, you should check again at your local hardware department store and give them a push test to see how well they are made. I am sure you will find them to be suitable, yet light enough to move around if you would like them to be somewhere else in your yard.
